5 Motivating Things We All Can Do This Holiday Season

A Little Bit Of Coffee Talk
Oh my goodness I can come up with the best ideas over coffee. Ok maybe not the best but I have been thinking about the closing of 2018. Yes, it is coming to a fast and brisk end. So, who is ready?
While sipping on my cup of joe this morning, I realized its time to start doing a little planning. Nothing major just adding a bit of self-care and motivation to the mix of life. So, I've thought what do people really want for Christmas besides gifts. Yes, we all want some type of present but what can I do that is more loving and effective than giving a toy or gift card to someone.

Nothing major just adding a bit of self-care and motivation to the mix of life. So, I've thought what do people really want for Christmas besides gifts. Yes, we all want some type of present but what can I do that is more loving and effective than giving a toy or gift card to someone.
So it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I was floored by my old memories. There was a point in my life when I couldn't buy myself anything nor anyone else around me. But I somehow found a way to be happy in the midst of everything that was happening at the moment.
In other words, I learned how to adjust and make things happen for myself even when I couldn't see past the storms that were happening in my life. But, one thing I do remember I had to learn very quickly how to self motivate myself through it all. I know that may sound cheesy but in reality, it is not.
Doing the holiday seasons and the end of the year it can become easy to get sad about life itself. But, hey it not that bad and it will get better. That is why I have learned to be my own little secret cheerleader.

The other day I was watching the news while getting dressed for work. There was a story shared about Tyler Perry paying off people layaways at Wal-Mart in his city.
What a blessing that will be to a lot of working families. Over the next few days, I saw Kid Rock and a few other celebs rise to the occasion and give back to their communities.

I know this is nothing new and I know it will be a nice tax write off. But who cares what the reason was about, it's the good feeling of giving back and helping even one person is the best feeling in the world.
So, that got me to thinking about something other than my life or going into work. Being happy is what we make of it, and it is that simple. When I didn't have much in life, I was happy because I didn't know I could strive for more than I had. Seriously, I thought struggling to make ends meet in my younger days was just the life I was dealt.
Now, that I am older, I have learned a new way of looking into my life, and I know my purpose.

So, I am going to share my 5 top unproven motivating things we all can do for ourselves and for others this Holiday Season.

#1 Volunteer: This is my favorite because it doesn't take a lot of time to help at the homeless shelter or sit and talk with a few women at a woman's group. Most people including myself have a warm bed and a place to call home but in reality, someone right down the street may not.

#2 Make A Blessing Box Or Bags. This one is at the top of my list, and we will be doing it this weekend. This idea is not new at all, but I love doing this one. It is fun educational to the kids and motivational to me as a woman. I like to get a box and fill it up with everything a woman needs when staying at a shelter.
What I put in are things that can be used by women such as period pads, deodorant, toothpaste, bobby pins, body spray, soap, hair scrunchies, socks, panties, etc. Those are things I put into my blessing box. I do the box so the shelter can allow anyone to take what they need. Some of my friends have done blessing bags that they pass out on the streets. Both ways are an excellent way to be a small blessing to someone else.

#3 Pass out motivational quotes to your co-workers. Sometimes a person just needs a kind word. So, grab a few cards from the dollar store, and hand write something nice and pass it out when you get to your 9 to 5 today.
Example: Write -
This Will Be Your Best Year Ever
You Are Blessed And Highly Favored
You Are Awesome To Work With ..May Blessings Over Take Over Your Life
You are Awesome To Work With
Glad We Are Co-Workers Have A Blessed Day

The sky is no longer the limit when it comes to spreading happiness.

#4: Look up an old friend: I have not talked to my best friend in years. Nothing happened to us we just live in different states. I know life has gotten busy for us but I will be opening back up my facebook account so I can find her. Yall know Facebook is the only place where you can go see your childhood friends. :) I know it will be a joy for us to talk on the phone and laugh about what's happening in life now.

#5 Encourage Yourself: It is ok to be ok. Yes, I said it. Being ok is ok. No matter what happens before or after the holidays, it is ok to be happy. So I am kicking off this season of motivating others as well as myself. So, join me in all the things that will help us enjoy this holiday season. I am not a doctor, but I've learned self-motivation is an excellent key to own in life. When I am happy and motivated by good, then I can spread that same inspiration to others.

Bonus: Eat and Enjoy Family: I am taking the stress off eating all things healthy because I will be entertaining this year. I'm excited to relax and enjoy my family and friends. So, my schedules will be tossed out as of now.

There you have it % motivating things we all can do this holiday season.

God is good, and I am a witness to that. Because I am still standing. :)

Until Next Time See Ya In A Bit!

  2. I plan to stay motivated by spending time watching positive things online, praying more and of course spending time with my family! One thing I have learned through this year is just like you said, it’s ok to be ok, and I won’t let anything stop me from doing so! I want to have an awesome holiday season and year even if it means falling back and focusing on the little things in life! Very nice blogpost and very inspiring! I love Bits and Babbles!
