A Quick Breakfast Does Not Have To Slow You Down : Aging Healthy
Who has time to grab a full breakfast every morning? You know the one that comes with oatmeal, fruit, eggs, turkey bacon, and one full glass of orange juice. Although that is so ideal, I can never get that type of food ready before heading off to work.
But I do realize I need to incorporate better eating habits into my lifestyle. So, this was my first attempt this week. Instead of brewing a fresh cup of coffee today, I opted for a full glass of blended fruits and vegetables.

My number one goal is to find simple and quick on the go morning foods to start my day. I am trying to move into eating a few bits of healthy foods and drinks, even if it is once a day. I must admit the struggle has been real because I love coffee hot or iced.
And to be honest, if I have it first, I will not eat breakfast because it curbs my appetite.
And to be honest, if I have it first, I will not eat breakfast because it curbs my appetite.
It has taken me years to realize that it has not been good for my body or my health. Not eating a meal is not healthy for no one. I have yet to master a balanced breakfast with coffee. I always drink coffee then eat a late lunch.
Can anyone else relate to that unhealthy eating habit?
Nonetheless, I have been trying out a few new recipes, and I am going to share one of them today because I am ultimately feeling a difference in my body. Yes, I started this a few weeks ago, and I will be sharing my personal growth often with you guys.
Over the Christmas Holiday, I got a new blender (Nutri Bullet), and it has made my days super easy.
After blending up a few things, I realized having a quick breakfast didn't have to slow me down. That was my biggest problem every day, not having enough time to cook, sit, and eat food.
So, here is my quick morning pick me up:
I've been blending up a lot of things, but I will share one that is a breeze to make, and it's my favorite at the moment.
Items Needed:
Any Frozen Fruit: I Chose the individual pre bags. They are easy to use for beginners.
Frozen Spinach: Optional
Bananas, Coconut Milk, Soy, Water, or Almond Milk. The choices are limitless.
Honey - I like a natural bit of sweetness.
I added all the bags of veggies, fruit, spinach, milk, and honey.
After putting in all the things I wanted, I placed the top on blended and enjoyed every drop.
I placed in my mason jar so I could do my makeup for the day. I've been enjoying my quick mornings almost every day.
In conclusion, As I age, I think it's about time I take responsibility for the things that will keep me living a healthy and whole life. I am not giving up coffee or the foods I love, such as soul food and gumbo: I am only learning and practicing new ways to balance a better idea of adding healthy eating to my daily lifestyle. Every small step helps, and I am happy about my life's choices at this moment in time.
There you have it a quick breakfast that does not have to slow you down.

I think next time you should try an all green smoothie or even a mango/pineapple one! I think that would be so yummy! Also I want to start replacing my daily morning coffee with tea! I’m hoping it will help my digestive system and make me feel better! I also think I’m going to invest in that nutribullet as well!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your recipes...I will try those also. Trust me I've purchased a lot of things to make. Yes, the nutri bullet was a good purchase for me...so get it. I do not know what took me so long to have one. :)
