Good morning hope you all are in good health and spirits this morning? Lately, I've been dealing with super dry skin. I know it is because of the cold winter weather we are in this winter season. Once I discovered I have dry skin, I am now doing everything in my power to keep my skin hydrated and super moisturized.

So, on today, I will be sharing my morning routine steps that work well for my aging /mature skin.
Sidenote: By no means is my skin perfect, I have skin discolorations and dark circles. I do struggle with eczema breakouts at least once a year, so my technique is different doing times of bad breakouts.
When my skin is in its normal state, this is my daily morning hydration routine.

Image: Witch Hazel is the first step in my skincare routine. First Step Witch Hazel : Witch Hazel has a lot of benefits when used regularly, it cleans and clears acne, It can be used to soothe sunburnt skin. I like to use it in the morning to remove any dirt in my face. It is also great to use around my dark circles because it has no fragrance and it acts as a brightening toner. I use it first although it can be used after washing my face.

Two Clinique Face Wash: I prefer a gentle face wash with no fragrance and a gentle lather. That is why my go to is the Clinique gentle wash because it has a soft feel with an oil base to it. I love the velvet feel I get when washing my face first thing in the morning. First I wet, my skin, then I add the face wash massage with a small hand sponge.

I take my time with this step. Then I use a soft white cloth to wash my face and pat dry lastly. My skin feels very smooth, and it is now ready for the next step.
Step Three I used to think leaving water on my face was good for hydration. But, honestly, it is the most drying for skin especially as we age. So, after I do my second step, I grab my hyaluronic serum moisture boost to hydrate my skin. It is also great for fine lines and wrinkles. It works quickly to add hydration after washing my face. This is definitely my go to in my skincare regimen.

Step 4 Moisturize: I wait 5 minutes between each step so the product can have time to settle into my skin and work. When it comes to moisturizing my skin in the morning, I love the Clinique Moisture Surge. It is heaven in a jar. When kept in the refrigerator it feels fantastic on my skin. I can feel the moisture immediately when using on my skin.

With the weather being so cold, it is vital to use a good moisturizer to combat dryness. Also, this step makes my skin look and feel youthful.
Image: Woman sharing how she uses Derma E oil. Step 5 One of my favorite steps is when I get to the oil. So, I grab my Derma E Radiant Glow Drops. I use three drops, and it gives my skin that good looking glow. Derma E is a luxury face oil that adds that last bit of hydrated moisture with a high shine that looks good without or under your makeup.

Tip: If you want your makeup to look dewy and glowy, then it starts with a good morning skincare prep system. When my skin is well nourished, my makeup goes on radiant, and I love that feeling.
Image: Woman using lip care as part of her morning skincare regimen. Last Step 6 Lip Care After all those face steps I can never leave out my lips. After doing my skincare, I never forget to oil my lips. My lips become dried and cracked doing this time of the season, so I have to keep a few different lip care products in my purse. I often reach for my Rosebud Salve because the thick and oily balm stays put even when the wind is blowing outside.

So, if you would like to see that one let me know below. Also, I am still learning the best ways to take care of my skin as it changes. I used to use the same face wash as my girls, but our skin is different in so many ways. I can no longer use Noxzema alone on my face.

I need skincare products that are made for a grown woman that actually works, I am also learning to take better care of my face by using the product that is meant for mature skin.

Also, I wake up early to take care of myself before my kids and husband wake up.

  1. I never implemented a good skincare routine until late last year! I never knew how important it was to do all of those steps until I started to experience really dry skin! I also make sure that I spend 60 seconds lathering the product into my face and it has been a game changer for sure! I also love Clinique during the winter because it builds that mositure back up quickly! Great post!

    1. Congrats on starting a new skincare routine. That is a good point about spending 60 seconds on the lather process.
