Our Holiday Breakfast Prep: Starring A Double Decker Bacon Stack

Oh, good morning, beautiful people, and Happy Valentines Day. There are so many things going on right now, and I do not know where to start.

I do know today is Thursday, and most of us should be at work right about now. So, spending a whole day with your loved one may not be possible because the majority of the world has to hit that 9 to 5 button.
I also know my household is split down the middle. It's ok because I have learned over the years how to bring in a bit of tradition that will not require time away from work or school.

Today on the blog, I will be sharing my excellent double-decker bacon stack with a twist.

When I first married my husband, Rico, every holiday and birthday, we would spend big money on eating out, gifts, and travel. Sometimes it was a little staycation. But over time, it became tedious and tiring. Don't get me wrong I love to eat out, but I can't stand the wait or the service sometimes.

I prefer to celebrate the week before or the week after so I can beat the crowd. This year we decided to treat ourselves to our very own home-cooked meal cafe style. Of course, I made the menu list, and Rico went out and bought everything.

My idea stemmed from this cute restaurant that is in our neighborhood that serves hot bagels and warm butter croissants. And since I am a wife who cooks, why not bring that cafe feel into our home breakfast. So here is the set up that will make your morning sunrise with your spouse feel extra special.

Our Holiday Prep started with setting out the bread of choice.
Tea or coffee is optional
Orange juice or Apple
Eggs- Fried, Scrambled or Sunny Side Up
Pepper-upon request
Sharp Cheddar Cheese
Fresh cut fruit
Tomatoes & Onion
Honey for a light drizzle

First place bacon in the oven, then fry eggs to desired texture. This is the quickest and easiest love brunch ever.

I like to set everything out once it is all ready.

Then I add a little bit of honey to my toasted bread of choice.

The next few steps are pretty much explanatory. I plate our plates with fruit then add cheese, tomato, egg, 4 to 5 strips of bacon, and a little more honey.

This sandwich is not for the faint-hearted or the nonmeat-eaters. Although you can replace the bacon with turkey or tofu.
A romantic breakfast with the one you love is all about having fun and playing with your food.

Once I finish our double-decker sandwich, we love to have hot tea and a tall glass of orange juice. I opted out for mimosas because we can't go to work or drive tipsy.
