Weekend Bits And Favorites: All About Trying Something New

Image: Plants In a Window .
This weekend was all about trying new bits and buying stuff that made my favorites list feel all grown up. I do not know about you guys but Friday, Saturday and Sunday went by faster than Superman passing an airplane. The funny thing is I had a half of day start before the end of the week got started, but it doesn't feel like it.

First:  I used part of my day deep cleaning the house. I pulled the sofa out and dusted furniture. Hit the self-clean oven button and washed all the linen from each room. The week before I bought some candles from Ross and I did not like them one bit, so I went to one of my favorite stores in Oak Cliff to grab some room sprays and a new mister.

Recently I've been buying homemade scents for our living space because of the lingering smell that lasts.
That is why you can find me at the market buying custom candles from vendors. I was a big fan of bath and body works candles, but the scents do not fill a  room anymore in my opinion. I think for the price of 24.50 I need the smell to be smelling my home and my neighbors. :) (not kidding at all)

If any of you guys know of a candle that smells good or room spray, let me know below?

Somehow I found myself down the aisles of Hobby Lobby. I promise I had no intentions of shopping nor buying anything. But, I can never have a drop of will power when it comes to a good sale. Ok, I love making my own jewelry from time to time. So, when I saw they had a few pieces on sale, I had to grab two things. It was a complete steal of a deal, and I only got a watch necklace and a chic rocker ring that pairs well with my black clothing.

After doing all that running around, I came home to a new baby in a car seat. My daughter Chloe is in a child development class, and this was the weekend she was pretending to be a single mama.

Let's just say this pretend granny got no sleep at all. That baby doll woke up and screamed every 30 minutes for feedings and diaper changes. The struggle was real!

A few weeks ago I was invited to a wine tasting party by one of my friends. That was the highlight of my evening to sit laugh and drink wine with a few girlfriends.

That is all I can say about that because what goes on at a wine party stays at the party. Ok, the truth is all we did was drink and gossip. :)

I do not know how I can get so much done in such a short time. The very next day was my husband's Rico birthday.

So, I decided to take him out for a quiet dinner and dessert in the city.

I didn't have much time to pamper myself, so I did it at home. I soaked my feet and did a quick set of impress press on nails. The funny thing is I looked like a million bucks when it was all said and done.

Speaking of doing my own spa day at home, I also did a little lip plumping. I am not ashamed to share my love for big lips. So, I did a scrub, moisturize and used a deep wrinkle patch I got from Ulta beauty supply.

I've shared this before on an older post, but I love to do my lips at least twice a month. And this just happens to be the weekend I needed to do it.

Also, I got a chance to finally go inside of Buc-ee's. I couldn't tell if it was a gas station, furniture, or food store.

No joke I saw people pumping gas, buying food, home decor, and clothing. Rico and I spent 1 hour just shopping and admiring all the cool things that were sold at a store with a big beaver on top. Only in Texas, you will see such madness, and I am all in for the foolishness. Yep, I will be back soon.

The best part about this three day weekend I got a chance to hang with all my girls and shop. I am teaching them how to find sales and deals. So, that was a lot of fun all wrapped up in one.

One cool thing I did do is drink a big cup of coffee. And how cute is this peeps international delight creamer? It tastes so good, the flavor is a replica of fluffy marshmallows.

I know it is not Easter yet but apparently, International Delight wants to be the early bird that shows up before the party starts.

Last, but not least after a long week and an even busier weekend. I tapped out with a do not disturb sign on my door, a slice of lemon pie and the entire episode of Power to watch all by myself. Ok, I let Rico also watch only if he agreed not to ask for anything, not even a bite of my pie.

There you have it a whole weekend of

Bits and favorites. Have you tried any of the things I shared above?

In conclusion, no matter how busy I was or am. I am still thankful to be here to enjoy every minute of it. As I get older, I am learning to embrace the small things and realize I am simply blessed to be here. Thank God!

Until Next Time SeeYa In A Bit

Stay tuned something new is happening March 3, 2019. Who can guess what it is?

Hint: You guys have been asking me about it for a long time :)
