24 Hour Morning Reset: Easy Workout, Thrift Finds And Making Jewelry


Who can use 24 hours of self-care and a day off without any worries or workloads?  I wish one person on the interweb could see I have both my hands up.  It's funny how time is going so fast I can barely keep up. It seems as if January just came and in a short time we are already three quarters into the year. Seriously, most of my days start early in the morning and end late at night. And it feels something like a loop, and I do not know how that happened.

I've discovered if I am continually living life in a systematic circle, then it feels as if time is in hyper speed. You know that circle where I am doing the same thing every single day, getting up, eating the same food, driving the exact route, sitting at the same desk, talking to the same people — coming home repeating the same evening and then off to bed. I know this scenario may sound a little crazy, but it can happen when a person is not paying their routines any attention.
It is easy to fall into a life that goes in a complete circle and before you know it time, minutes, seconds, days and even months will be slipping by faster than Super Man chasing a plane.
When the New Year came in recently, my family, and I started a different schedule for our house that gets us all to our destinations and back. That also includes after-school events, work, and activities that I have never missed so far.
Three weeks ago, I noticed I was exhausted even with going to bed at a decent time. So, on my next day, I decided to grab my journal and tweak my life just a bit.

Side Note: I am a person who believes working all day, and no play is not a healthy lifestyle.

The first thing is I had to know and understand my reality. What can I change on my schedule that would benefit me and my household? I looked at my daily, weekly and monthly patterns to my way of doing life. What I saw was shocking to me. My days and evenings have been centered around what keeps my family going. That would explain why no one else in my family felt that loop feeling but for me.

Here's how I hit the reset button so I can enjoy life and my personal time a little better. The first thing is I had to know and understand my reality. What can I change on my schedule that would benefit me and my household? I looked at my daily, weekly, and monthly patterns to my way of doing life. What I saw was shocking to me. My days and evenings have been centered around what keeps my family going. That would explain why no one else in my family felt that loop feeling but for me.

So, after going over my books, I was doing a lot as a mommy, wife, and outside worker. As women, our days start off doing for others and its called, family, kids, and spouse. Then we pack, lunches, prep dinner before heading off to a job where we are the boss or employee. By 5 pm we repeat the night, by prepping for the next day. And for most of us, the only free time is doing shower and bathe moments.
I am good about scheduling things, so I know what I need to do and I am going to share this morning doing my babbling session. :)

I am on a self-discovery kick as I get older and a firm advocate for women when it comes to self-care. If we don't make time for ourselves, then time will not make time for us.

The things I had to do:

First: I Fixed My Schedule: When I went over my journal, I noticed I was full doing other stuff and nothing for myself. It wasn't done on purpose my life just became busy, and I didn't hit the pause button when needed. So, that was my first adjustment to getting out the loop of life. I took one of my days off that is dedicated only to myself.
Tip: When I can't take a whole day, I will try to configure a few hours if possible.

Second: I make time for my skincare in the morning. I was getting up rushing and doing a quick face wash, now I've been getting back up at 5 am so I can have that quiet time by myself to relax and unwind.

If I do not do a full prayer in the mornings, I sit still, stretch and thank the Lord above for another day. I always read the bible app scripture for the day while I'm relaxing. I feel so much better when I get up before my family does.

I hate working out, but I have recently found my happy medium once and for all. I took the pressure off losing weight and became more focused on moving my body is just as important. Four: I had to realize exercising has to be a part of my life even if its at night. I hate working out, but I have recently found my happy medium once and for all. I walk at a slow pace, and I am feeling so good and accomplished. 

Five: I slowed down on so much fast food. I was doing good last year when it came to packing my lunch. But I fell off the wagon doing the holidays. But, its never too late to start over and that is what I am doing at the moment.

I am not giving up my regular foods such as chicken and fries. I am only making better choices throughout the day. So, I have amped up my fruit and veggie game.

I have also been eating on a smaller plate so I won't consume as much food when I use a bigger plate. I am feeling better since eating smaller portions. But it is making a difference in my evening time by cooking home cooked meals that will last my family two nights.

But, I find it helps me sleep better when I take the time to use good products on my skin at night. Don't get me wrong a quick one step face wash is okay sometimes. But as of late, my skin is thirsting for moreotherthers words, Ive been paying more attention to my skin and what it needs to stay soft and supple.

Eleven: I purposely turn my TV off and my lamp at a decent time. This has helped me rest better at night. I realize the TV playing in the background is not soothing. :) Now I get my full 8 hours asleep.
