I Was In Dallas Shrimping Around, And I Caught A Hook Line And Sinker

I love seafood and more seafood! That's all Folks:)

I must admit I love myself some good ole' catfish and shrimp so when I have a chance, I will order, pick up, or sit down and eat all my belly can take. Not kidding at all this gal can eat a hefty amount of seafood.

So, it was of no surprise when my husband took me to a little juke hole in the wall not far from where we live shop and hang out. Now, when it comes to eating fried, catfish, shrimp and hush puppies, I don't need a fancy smashy restaurant. As a matter of fact the more run down the better...lol just kidding Y'all. In other words, I prefer a mom and pop or family store for that good ole' southern cooking and eating. You know that is where you can find friendly people and hot Oz food with the trimmings.

So this week I am sharing a spot that got me hooked line and sinkered. Yes, that is the name of the restaurant that sits right in the center of Uptown Dallas. First of all, it's not Louisiana Cajun, but when I can't hit the swamp city of Shreveport, I can now enjoy a little of my hometown at Hookline & Sinker

Let me tell Yall, Texas has no shortage of food chains, honey chile they are on every corner and crack and crevices. And the decor is always good to watch and image how they pulled that look off.
One thing I loved about Hook Line & Sinker is that it was a country place with nice friendly people. It was decorated like a boathouse and the only thing missing was a lake or pond of water. The catch about this place is it is located right on a busy street corner directly across from CVS store.

But, that did not stop me from enjoying the scenery and the friendly people all around my husband and me. Let's just say the atmosphere was laid back and relaxing.

Now, let's talk about the food and all the good eating that went down. Rico(husband) ordered the catfish plate, but I had to be all greedy and order the 12 piece shrimp platter.
To be honest, I thought it was going to be small, but yall, I only was able to eat 6 shrimp before sliding my plate over to my husband to finish. I know I always eat the same food, but their menu was long and I am a one-lane eater when it comes to seafood: catfish, shrimp, crawfish and shrimp again.:)

None the less, everything was good except the flavor was not seasoned enough for me. I later read I was supposed to ask for seasoning, so if you go ask for your food to be seasoned. The portions are big, and I think they can be shared. Each platter comes with hushpuppies, fries and other trimmings are extra.

Oh did I mention you can order from the patio window or come inside a cool airconditioned area with lots of seating and decor?

Each table comes with crackers for your enjoyment while you await a buzzer to buzz when your food is ready. The place was nice and cozy, so I think my husband did a great job finding this spot for us to have a place to eat that felt like we were in our old city of Louisiana.
