Oh, Darling, I Am Feeling Sunny And Blue!

Hello, Darlings, How Ya'll doing on this beautiful Tuesday? It's hot as cooter brown here in Texas, but I will not complain too much. I must admit dressing in more refreshing hues has really worked well for me this summer. Of course, it is no secret how much I love wearing black, but we all know it's hard to wear that full dark Vader look I am obsessed with.

So, I have opted to wear the same thing all summer long, and it has been working out just fine. Lately, I have been intentionally mixing my used handbags, with head wraps and 5 dollar clothes I find off the sales rack.
Since the weather has been humid wearing head bans, silk scarfs have been my go-to when pulling back my short bangs.
Seriously, I do not even comb my hair due to the hotness that is in the air. I love the tie-down look at the moment.
I get the bulk of my scarfs from thrift shops because they are cheaper. Seriously, headpieces can run 10 to 25 dollars, and some places cost even more. Whatever happened to finding 1 dollar head scarfs?
But, I also find them from the craft store. Oh, yes, that is my little secret. The blue one in this picture is from the local boutique.

Finding ways to stay cool has been super easy for me because I have been loving staying in the realm of the blues and yellow colors when dressing for the day.
One thing I've learned this year is restyling my own old outfits. Some people call it minimalism but I call it recycling, and I should have done it a long time ago.
When I was a kid, my mom never threw clothes away unless they had holes and snares in them. And even then your bootie better be showing for her to toss them out.
And, if she suspected either me or my sister tore them on purpose, she would iron ugly patches to cover the damage parts.
Yep, those were the good ole' days, and I wish I would have kept that tradition going. I think I could have saved thousands of dollars by restyling and recycling my clothing items.

I can not tell you how many handbags, dresses, and scarfs I've tossed in the trash or giving to the thrift stores. Yes, I believe in giving to the second-hand stores to cycle through the community. But looking back I should have kept some of my things so I could do a little mix match here and there.

It's been a long since I have shared a quick outfit of the day. I must admit I am feeling pretty good about the things I have been dressing up in. The one lesson I have learned is I am no longer trying to figure out my style. I'm just rolling with what I already know and what looks good on me.
Being forty-something and dressing to the 9's ain't that serious for this country gal. I just want comfort, cuteness, and affordability.
I can't wait to share a few of my upcoming styles.
So, there you have it a simple outfit that I will be wearing on repeat. Oh, and that blue handbag was a traveler's bag that I also got from a local vintage store. It paired well with my dress and brown shoes, and glasses also came from a vintage store as well. Got my dress from Ross clothing. Byeeee talk to you gals later:)

There you have it a little blue inspiration.

You can see glasses and a few other pieces from the store.

Until Next Time See Ya In A Bit!
