Today Was A Story: Shopping, Bopping, And Donut Chomping!

Thank Ya Big Mamma it's Tax- Free day down yonder in Texas, who else ready?
Yep, I am just a big ole' kid deep down inside who loves shopping bopping and donut chomping. #sorrynotsorry:)
So, getting Moriah ready to do a little back to school shopping was right up my alley. You know I am super excited to be dancing down the aisles of my local Tar-Jay.
My husband {Rico} suspects I am more happy about her going back to school. :) But, hey I will never admit nor deny his strong manly intuition. :)

Since school is about to get started, I decided to do something a little different this year.
We usually go shopping as a family, but this time I wanted to hang out with the youngest all by myself.
I am at a point in my life where the small things matter so much to me, and I wanted a little one on one time with each one of my daughters.
In my opinion, I think having separate times with each one is very important.
You know those personal time and chats maybe over coffee and donuts.  Ha! Or maybe eating Mcdonald's cheesy bacon fries without having guilt.
 #happinessfirst right?
Yeah, I have to remind myself life is not that complicated. #justlive
You know, like, knowing when to silence work, awaken mom mode, and be the mother/friend my family needs.
Yeah, that's me trying to get it together.

I decided to do the bulk of my back to school shopping on Tax-free weekend. Because Texas has a, don't pay taxes on school clothes every year. And it is the best thing that can happen to large families. So, I took advantage today and got everything I needed from Target.

Usually, my oldest Carey and Moriae make a list and do the shopping for me. But, honey I did it this time, and I  think I went overboard. But it was so much fun watching Moruah pick out her clothes and try on shoes.

Since she wears uniforms to school, I was so happy to see all the deals on the Cat And Jack outfits. Actually, this trip was the easiest because I got one sweater, four skirts, 2 pair of khakis pants, 6 shirts, 5 pair of leggings and three pairs of shoes. All for a whopping 181 dollars, no tax at all. Yep, I must admit I am doing the happy dance,

By the time I finished with all that clothing shopping, we road around talking and laughing. I never knew my 7 years old knew so much about nothing. LOL:)

One thing I did learn today from her is how to be a little con artist. Yes, she has skills that I had to see to believe. Earlier while at the store I didn't realize Moriah talked me into a deal with her.

Yes, she told me she would be good all day if I get donuts.
Honestly, I wasn't paying any attention when I nodded yes.
Umm! What just happened, because after all that walking around the store, I thought afterward, I would go home and crawl under my bed for some much-needed rest.
But, by the time I loaded everything up in the car, Moriah reminded me of my promise to get donuts.

Sidenote: She really didn't trick me; I did it because that is what mommies do. #makethemhappy

So, that is how I am going to justify eating three glazed donuts with milk.

Besides I low key enjoyed our time alone together. I got a chance to share a few stories with her and listen to the things she deemed valuable.
Yes, my day started out as a shopping trip, but it ended up being the best day for me.

I learned a valuable lesson today. Life is too short not to enjoy the smallest things in it, even if its just a day full of shopping, bopping and donut chomping.
That's my story, and I am sticking to it:)

Are you ready for your family to head back to school?

Until Next Time See Ya In A Bit!

  3. Now that I think about it, I come off of hundreds for my daughter's to pick out random clothing that they barely wear. Maybe I should consider uniforms 💕
