Weekend Bits And Favorites: Such A Crazy Ending

Oh Hello, Monday. So, glad to be here sharing a few bits from such a crazy weekend. I was just sitting at my desk thinking have I mastered how to take life a little more slow and easy? The last few Friday, Saturday's and Sunday's have been filled with doings, goings, and non-stopping family business. Such as work, school, taking our truck for maintenance, meet all the teachers week, and catching up on e-mails. Whew, honey, I need a tall glass of wine.
Two of those days, I came straight home and crashed for three hours with my blinds tightly shut. #nojoke
So, by the time this Friday rolled around, I was ready to do absolutely nothing at all.

Since most of my weekends have been a bit crazy, I've decided to eat, do, and be extra lazy myself. Please don't judge me, because I know I am not the only one who needs a lazy day.   So, here are a few bits that made me happy.

I heard through the grapevine that Bath and Bodyworks were having a sale on fall candles. But, I haven't gone and checked it out as of yet myself.
Because I still have a few to burn from over the summer. If you guys know of some good ones leave me comments below.
Anyhoot, I had one that I let burn this entire weekend. Now, my home smells exactly like walking into a craft store.
Do you know what pairs well with a peach bellini scented wax candle? If you guessed ice-cream and cookies, you are correct.
Happily, I ate everything except the kitchen sink, and I will not apologize about it.:)
Whoever said eating sweets make you feel good deserves a Pulitzer prize or even a trophy of some sorts. I ate all types of delicious foods, like nachos, pizza, pickles, and kool-aid.

Guys, what is a few days of being home without having a few moments of binge-watching movies?  My husband and I both used the DVD player this weekend to watch a few of our favorite old school shows. Sometimes I just do not want to see or hear anything from my regular channels.

First, I wanted to get my laugh on. So, A Thin Line Between Love And Hate had to be the first movie to kick start my evening.
Martin Lawerance and Lynn Whitfield came together to bring humor, and rolling on the floor laughs. Martin,, who plays a character by the name of Danell Right was a bad boy at being a player. He had women from all over the same neighborhood. He was getting away with his tactics until he ran across Lynn, who played his side woman who ultimately wanted to be the main gal. Ya'll she put the cray in crazy. Also, Bobby Brown and Regina King bought in some fun and humor as well. It is hilarious to watch Darnell try to squirm his way through being a no-good man.

After a few laughs, I had to watch my all-time favorite movie: Face/Off with John Travolta and Nicolas Cage.
Ok, so John plays a character named Sean Archer whose son get shot and killed by Nicolas who is now Castor Troy. Castor is a terrorist and Sean wants him so bad that he is willing to exchange faces. Yes, it sounds bizarre, but the suspense and graphics behind this movie are so worth it.

I couldn't resist watching Trapped in Paradise for a bit of small-town, big trouble madness.  Nicolas Cage also plays in this one alongside Jon Lovitz and Dana Carvey. In which all three are goofball brothers who tried to rob a small-town bank. Well, let's just say snow and a few friendly people stopped them at every turn. Trapped In Paradise is such a great family movie. And, yes I keep it on repeat when I want to laugh at and about life.

Last but not least, I can not leave out my favorite suspense movie, Joy Ride. Paul Walker plays the main character in this one. This ain't no fast in the furious because Paul and two other people were being stalked by a looney basket truck driver. No matter which detour they took, that trucker was slowly creeping up and finding where Paul and his friends were hiding. Trust me this one used to creep me out now I can watch because I know the ending. But, I still love it on days when I can crawl up in my bed and do absolutely nothing.

When Sunday finally rolled around, I was ready to grab a little fresh air. So, Rico and I went out to grab a few more Fall decor for our home. Can you believe I found all my Halloween stuff from the Dollar Store? Now, I've hit the jackpot with all the Fall party decorations.

Most people do not know orange and yellow is my favorite color all year round. And I find it extremely easy when it comes to decorating around my color scheme.

For just one dollar I found some Gather Fall / Thanksgiving plates that will look festive for this Holiday season. Why spend a ton of money when I can simply change out my festive style for under a few bucks.

I couldn't decide on the style of placemats and plates I wanted so, I just matched up a few so Rico could choose.
Image: Fall plates, cups and bowls. First, I was looking at the green matched with the bowl, plate, and orange cup. I am definitely feeling the green vibe, but the mats may look better during Christmas time.

Now, I do think the busier looking placemats will look better with the solid orange plates and cups. That option was stunning as well, but I love the fall and Thanksgiving feel of the dishes I originally picked out.
Image:The third style with the orange placemats may be the winner. Since Rico nor myself could choose, we got both the orange and green ones. The orange will be for Fall, and the green will be for Xmas. Yes, I purchased both because the dollar stuff goes fast.

Oh and I also, grabbed all the matching towels and potholders. Why not the quality is fantastic. Also, my picks look so cute to entertain with.
And we all know the Dollar store can be a hit or a miss. So, when I find a good hit, I grab all the bits I can get my hands on.
