I Am Going To A Wedding Wearing Everything From The Second-Hand Store!

Wearing a black lace dress from the thrift store. Would you attend a wedding wearing everything you've purchased from the thrift store? I may have to grab a glass of wine for the answers I am about to receive.

Yezzz that is all the way up my alley because I love a good ole purple dress or pant set. But, here's my dilemma, I can't find that color anywhere. #justmyluck

And trust me, I have been on an all-out woman hunt for one that is affordable and looks fantastic on me. I've found a few at the bridal gallery, but I am only going to be in the dress a mere few hours, so spending $149 is not worth that.
So, being the thrift snooper I am, I've decided to try my luck at a few of my local thrift venues. By all means, the thrift stores carry everything now from old record players to Gucci belts, surely I can find myself a purple dress for one beautiful evening.

Let's Go Shopping.

White wedding dresses at the thrift store. My first store stop was terrific; I walked right in and found a few vintage wedding dresses.

Bridal dresses at the thrift store. So, I was stoked when I walked into the thrift store and found a few bridesmaids and matron dresses. And can you believe nothing was over 40 dollars? But just as my luck runs, there was nothing in my size or style that was purple.

Besides, the ones I did see did not fit my taste one bit. I am looking for something with a bit more lace and frill included such and a mid sleeve and a little below the knee in length.

Trying on dresses at the thrift store. After four hours of searching, I finally gave up on looking for that perfect dress that can go from being in a wedding to an evening of having drinks with my friends.

Bought a blue rhinestone purse from the thrift store. Who goes to the thrift store and not rummage through the handbags? Not me says the best thrift snooper in the world. lolol") My luck changed right before I walked out the door with nothing in my hands. For only $3.99, I grabbed the cutest little blue rhinestone clutch bag I've ever seen.

Although it won't match a purple dress, it will surely look great with my heel boots and some leggings when going on date night. Yes, I am going to add this beauty to my wardrobe.

Sparkle shoes at the thrift store in Dallas Texas. I must admit I couldn't end my shopping trip without looking at the shoes. I do not wear bling shoes at all, but the ones I found at the second-hand store were absolutely amazing, and I had to try them on.

Of course, they were a bit tight on my feet, but for $6, they would have gone well with an evening dress.
Trying on granny boots from the thrift store in Dallas texas. Goodwill. Lastly, I did find myself a nice pair of genuine leather granny boots. They were initially priced at 8 dollars, but I grabbed them on 50% off day.

Trying on Summer dress at the thrift store.

Tried on dresses at the thrift store that was under 5 dollars.

Although I couldn't find what I was looking for, I did try on a few dresses that were under 5 bucks. There were a few hits and misses, but I am proud to say I left the store with a few good thrifted gems.

So, in the end, I will not count this shopping trip as a fail but more of a learning experience. I learned everything cant come from the thrift store. And it is a possibility I may in the mall or at David's Bridal shop tomorrow trying on dresses.

So, go ahead, wish me luck in finding something cute sassy and purple to wear.

Would you wear a thrift outfit to a wedding?

Leave me comments and store suggestions:)

  3. You found some nice things. Purple and gold sound like hard colors for me to shop for. I'm not very colorful in my wardrobe, in fact, it needs a good update though. Good luck on finding a dress. Um...I may wear a thrift dress, especially if I get complements on it because then I can say, "oh, this old thing?!"
