Midweek Recap

Oh, hey friends Happy New Year, and welcome to my midweek recap. Who else is grateful that we made it over and through barrels of 2019? I know I am jumping for joy, and I started my week off by doing a few things that made me happy other than working and going home. #inspoforthesoul
This year I did not make any resolutions, but instead, I made of list of things I can do right now to better things around my family and me.
Monday: I did a little decluttering around my house, and I got rid of everything that didn't fit anymore. I used to use my Monday day off doing and running errands for everybody, and then I didn't have much time to work on my personal vision. I just recently stepped up my side-hustle game, so you guys can expect to see more about that.
After taking care of my personal business at home, I went into the city and spent two hours at the market.
The reason being, I am working on style as an older woman and getting out seeing what professional vendors have to offer has opened my mind to amp up my style.
I love hitting the thrift markets because that is where I can find some cute handbags and how other women have taken ownership of their style. I think I have it now, and I am wearing what I want with piles of jewelry.
So, this Monday, I tried on several tulle skirts {black, of course) with tops and belts. Yes, it was an experience, but I learned how to properly pile on the things I love, and I will be sharing that soon with you all. In the meantime, wear what you like and buy what you want. :)
Tuesday: It was almost a blur, but that is ok, and I will not be ashamed of that one bit. I worked from 9 to 2 am, so I had a little to sit in traffic and ponder on what I was going to make for dinner.
But, instead of stopping by Wal-Mart, I over into the parking lot of my local craft store and grabbed some trinkets to make myself some jewelry. In the latter part of December, I stopped making earrings because I was always busy, and that is life sometimes, but I managed to make myself two necklaces out of those two ornaments pictured above. Since it is New Year's Eve, I will be styling them in an upcoming post real soon. #staytuned
Some more new ideas are coming for you guys to enjoy and make for yourself.
Oh,, and Tuesday, I did not have to cook because Rico (the hubs and I went out for fried catfish and shrimp. Ha! It would have been cheaper if we did it on a Wednesday, but we both were off and hungry. I must admit it felt pretty good for me to take a spontaneous date night. Trust me, mid-week dates don't happen much during work and school days. But, hey, I am thankful for this being a New Year, and it felt terrific to hang out late in the middle of the week. :) I must admit we stayed out until 2am just talking and laughing about nothing. Umm, who old now?
By Wednesday, I was ready to just relax but not with planning a family date night at home.
Generally, at the beginning of a new decade, it was a tradition to cook a pot of black-eyed peas with the trimmings to bring in the new year. But, this year, I have a large pot of Rotel brewing with a long list of movies on the side.
How I make my cheese dip:
Seasoned ground beef
Two can of mild Rotel
one can of original Rotel
One can of cheese
and lemon ice-tea
Since New Year's has fallen in midweek, I think a few hours of watching some good movies at home will be an excellent way to end the evening.
To Relax on this day, I have pulled out two funny movies.
Three Strikes and Money Talks
One Wrong Turn for the scary side of me on tonight
If I make it past 12 am, I will start on The Negotiator and The Specialist with Sylvester Stallone.
What a way to end the first day of the year!
In conclusion: I am learning to live a life with more meaning by living a life with purpose.
Sometimes it is ok to have a hobby and do something just for yourself.
By all means, let this be the moment in time that 2020 brings you all the peace, love, and happiness you deserve.
Until Next Time See Ya In A Bit!

HAPPY NEW YEAR Friends:)
