 Unbiased Ageless Self-Care: How To Get Out Of An Uninspired Rut!
I used to think self-care was all about getting a massage, nails, and feet until I realized my needs were more than going to the best salon and spa in my city. Today I am sharing a new and profound routine that has helped me get out of an uninspired rut.
Sidenote: Life is so much more than working and taking care of everybody else. Yikes! I know that is a hard pill to swallow.




Let's face it; we all need a little inspiration and motivation from time to time in life. Several times I got off track this year, and I had to re-evaluate and re-arrange my priorities, so I could get things done.
This year I made myself a small sticky note to take it easy when I need too, and to keep my plate clear of unnecessary tasks that really do not need my attention. Trust me, that is easier said than done, especially when I am a person who has to be doing 900 things at one time. Ha! that is until I crash from the overload of it all.

Change Up Your Routine: I know when I get up and eat the same thing, do the same thing, and drive the same way to work. Over some time, my daily life feels mundane, drab, and boring. It is so easy to get caught up in the same old daily life routine. So, I am starting to do things that make me feel motivated.
For example: Buy a new quick breakfast, try something that you've never tried before. 
Breakfast ideas:
One boiled egg, toast and jelly: No meat
Make your own sub sandwich at home for lunch: Whole wheat bread, honey ham, sharp cheddar cheese, mustard, and a pickle. Trust me, it will taste better than having a bought sub sandwich from the corner bakery.
Also, try some vinegar chips on the side, the taste will change your life.
Listen to some motivational music or podcasts while in your car or sitting at your desk. I just recently purchased some gospel music from my local thrift store, and it has changed my morning mood and commute for the better.
I am no Dr, but listening to positive things and/or reading something motivational can help get out of an uninspired rut.

I know when I am feeling uninspired, I only want to do the basics of life, such as work, home, cook, and bed.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! There is so much more to having a happy life that is filled with laughter, happiness, and joy. The older I am becoming, I desire so much more for myself and the people who are around me every day.

Switch up your beauty and skincare routine: I just recently went through all of my makeup and got rid of old lipsticks, mascaras, and blender brushes. Not to mention, I tossed out a few old skincare products. So, today I will be buying fresh new products for my skin as it goes from winter to spring weather. It really feels good when I can make time to buy the things that make me look and feel good. There is nothing wrong with splurging on some new makeup and skincare products. 
When I go shopping this time, my focus is on trying and testing new things. I am also going to ask for a few samples to try before I buy. So, stay tuned for that post coming soon. I really want to step up my makeup game and get a little bold. Wish me luck...lol. :)

Read A New Book Or Buy A New Magazine: I love it when I can hang out at the library with my girls. When they are buying books, I am browsing through all the magazines looking for inspiration. When I am flipping through magazines, I find joy to see the beauty in life. I love looking in the home section for decor ideas., the recipe books for cooking ideas and the do it yourself section for making jewelry ideas. That may sound small, but it has helped in those moments when I felt very uninspired. Some people go to the internet for inspiration, I prefer getting out and doing something free and relaxing.

Find A Hobby: Finding something I was interested in outside of work was very challenging at first.  I can not tell you how many times I made up excuses for not taking time out for me, myself, and I. So, I decided two years ago to pick back up, making jewelry as my side hobby. And I am thinking about turning it into a side hustle later on in life. Nonetheless, having something to do in my spare time has helped me age well and focus on something other than work or paying bills. #example

Sidenote: Find something that sparks a fire in you. It can be learning how to play tennis, doing a 5k run, or taking a knitting class. The possibilities are endless.

Sculpting
Reading
Travel
Sight Seeing Shopping ( Yes going to the mall is a hobby)

Add One Day Of Eating Healthy: I know I love eating fried catfish, greens, cornbread, and sweet potatoes. But, in all honesty, I can not eat that type of food every day. So, I have been incorporating two days a week of eating foods and snacks that are healthy. I find when I eat a well-balanced meal at least twice, I feel good and happy because my body feels great.

So, get inspired to try some new foods. I am rooting for you. :)

Other simple things that help me stay inspired and motivated.

-Clean Your Space: I make up our bed every single morning and wash sheets every week on my days off. After being at work all day, I do not want to come home to a messy bed, or side table. So, I try to put all my hair products and makeup away before leaving home. I feel less chaotic from working 8 to 9 hours a day. 

Last But Not Least Surround Yourself with Inspiring People:

Hanging with people who have no goals or can't understand your goals is useless. As I have gotten older, my conversations with family, friends, and coworkers are all about change, progress, and how I can become better at my craft. And I can honestly say the friends I do associate myself with are always talking about doing bigger and better things in life. And at the end of the day, that is what we all need in the world today.
Those that do not want to see the progress I limit my time and conversation with them in love. 

If you do not have friends hang with the upbeat and chipper people at your job. Trust me, doing so will help your day go by fast and happily.

In conclusion: I believe it is time to focus on aging with care. So, if that means putting yourself FIRST, by all means, DO IT TODAY!
